The Imagineering team returned from what was a lively and exciting Fair at the annual Shepton Mallet event. Thanks to the hard work, support and exciting projects and activities laid on by Imagineering’s participating organisations, youngsters were kept occupied for hours!
The marquee was bigger than ever and a special red 5m high inflatable archway highlighted the Imagineering site and was visible across the showground.
Inclement weather at times affected gate figures for the Show but over 17000 came through the Imagineering marquee. Newcomers Brecknell Willis and Maplin Electronics were kept busy as were all the companies and enjoyed the whole experience.
Oliver Letwin, Conservative MP for West Dorset and Minister for Government Policy, dropped in one day as did John Vincent, Vice President of the Royal Bath & West Society.
Outside the marquee streams of visitors also visited the BLOODHOUND SSC (Super Sonic Car) inside its eye-catching orange tunnel as well as the Fleet Air Arm Museum’s Wasp helicopter.
The Imagineering Team Challenge ran daily in the Imagineering Arena and after hot competition, including an early morning run, was won for the second year running by the team from Rolls-Royce!
This is one of the biggest events in the Imagineering calendar and once more, thanks to the support of the participating organisations and also the sterling volunteers, was another resounding success.
