The Midlands Imagineering Fair welcomed families from across the region to the event at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry
Sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover, this two-day stand-alone event in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall saw families treated to scores of fun and fascinating hands-on engineering and technology laid on by manufacturers and organisations from across the region.
This was the largest line-up of participants for any Imagineering event and the Imagineering Foundation welcomed some new companies to what has become an annual event: JCB, RJH Finishing, Flamefast, HME Technology to name a few.
A centrepiece to the whole event was the 6metre tall marionette, Godiva, from the Godiva Awakes project. With her six puppeteers she went for the occasional stroll to the delight of all.
Chairman of Imagineering and Event Manager, Bob Shanks said: “ We have been delighted with the positive responses both from visitors and the standholders – everyone seemed to have a great time! Hopefully we have sowed some seeds for the future and we’ll see some of these youngsters returns as engineers in the future!”
The complete line-up for the Fair was:
_Aero Engine Controls; BEETEG; Caterpillar Inc; Denford Ltd; Flamefast (UK) Ltd; Forgottenmobile.com; GE Aviation; GE Energy; Heritage & Culture Warwickshire; HME Technology Ltd, Imagineer Productions; Imagineering JLR Education Business Partnership Centre; IMarEST; IET; IMechE, Jaguar Land Rover; JCB Excavators Ltd; MAD Museum; MTA; Meccano Fun; Mechatronics International Ltd; MTC; National Grid; RJH Finishing Systems Ltd; Roaming Robots; REME; Scientific Communications; Severn Trent Water; The Smallpeice Trust; Technology Supplies Ltd; University of Warwick._
