Imagineering returns from London Model Engineering Exhibition at Alexandra Palace

Ben and Harry get down to it on the Imagineering Workbench with help from Ben Rae, left

Thousands of modellers and engineers enjoyed exciting displays and met up with old friends, and colleagues and like-minded people.
The Imagineering stand was buzzing with Michael Denny and his fantastic Meccano models (that children can actually touch and play with!) and the Clubs section with activities for children of all ages. The Imagineering Workbench attracted much attention with one-to-one sessions for youngsters with an engineer, where they made a steady hand game, using tools and learning some basic skills.
REME (the Army’s Royal Mechanical and Electrical Engineers) were there with info on the latest military technology and careers in engineering – and were answering queries from REME engineers of days gone by as well as the engineers of the future!
IMarEST, represented by Alan Myatt who highlighted marine engineering and providing youngsters with a realistic view of maritime life with a fantastic simulator.
This annual event is a regular on the Imagineering calendar and is an opportunity for all involved to fly the flag in the southeast and there were plenty of enquiries about setting up Imagineering Clubs.
