Taking a stand at London Model Engineering Exhibition 16-18 January
The Imagineering team once again takes some fun and activities to this popular 3-day show at the iconic Alexandra Palace with a large stand in the Model Active Zone in the Great Hall.
Imagineering will be promoting its weekly Clubs scheme and there will be activities linked to the National Curriculum and the Clubs’ projects. The Imagineering Workshop will provide youngsters with the opportunity to have one-to-one sessions with an engineer on a make-and-take project, learning how to use tools and picking up some useful skills. There will also be Magnetism, Materials and Connectivity Challenges, activities on Electronics and Electricity as well as a few surprises.
Michael Denny will be up from Cornwall with some of his fantastic Meccano models with all kinds of bells to ring, buttons to push and knobs to wind for youngsters to get to grips with. This year there will also be newcomers to Imagineering, Sue and Ralph Laughton, bringing some Meccano kits for children to ‘have a go’ on the stand.
This is a fun event to start the year and well worth a trip to London for engineers of all ages, also to see some of the fine examples of precision scale models made in special Clubs from around the country.
