This annual three-day event grows year on year and is now a regular feature of Imagineering’s own calendar.
This year it attracted over 2300 excited children from over 30 secondary and primary schools from Yorkshire.
The event was aimed at 4-19 year olds, and showcased some of the most prominent local and regional businesses who rely on engineering to be successful.
Empowering young people to take control of their future in an ever changing world is essential for successful futures, especially as they progress to careers which do not yet exist, use technology not yet invented and solve problems we do not even yet know are problems. This was at the heart of Scarborough Engineering Week.
Keen to promote careers available in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and show just how exciting technology can be, the local experts and business leaders from the region (and some from further afield like Imagineering) brought along some of the latest technology being used in business today, including robots, virtual reality kits, 3D technology etc giving visitors the chance to have “hands on” experience.
The Imagineering team was kept well occupied every day with eager young visitors all ready to get engaged and handson.
Organised by Scarborough Business Ambassadors, Unison Ltd and NYBEP Ltd - thanks to whom Imagineering was able to attend, make some great contacts and hopefully lay down some roots in Yorkshire.
