Longstanding Imagineering supporters – Airbus, GE Aviation, GE Oil & Gas, Fleet Air Arm Museum, Imagineering Clubs and Michael Denny with his Meccano Fun – will form a major feature in Hangar 7 at RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day at Ilchester in Somerset on Saturday 26 July.
There will be lots of fun activity to inspire youngsters and promoting engineering as a future career. Also in Hangar 7 will be My Future My Choice, and the Military Wives Choir.
Although the aircraft and their amazing displays take most of the limelight at Air Day there is plenty to entertain the family on the ground. Arena displays will include marching performances by the HMS Heron Volunteer Band and the fiercely contested Field Gun Competition between HMS Heron and HMS Seahawk (RNAS Culdrose). The Commando Helicopter Force will set up a Forward Operating Base with plenty of equipment and demonstrations providing an insight on how the force supports the Royal Marines in theatre. There will also be trade stalls, funfair, simulators and pleasure flights to enjoy.
