IMAGINEERING BENEFITS AS MAYOR’S CHOSEN CHARITY

IMAGINEERING has received a cheque for £2000 from Councillor George Illingworth, Mayor of Kenilworth until recently.

L-R, Councillor George Illingworth, Bob Shanks

Councillor Illingworth adopted the Imagineering Foundation as one of his chosen charities in his mayoral year and took the opportunity to visit as many of the Imagineering Clubs operating in Kenilworth as possible during his year in office. He presented the cheque to Imagineering’s Chairman, Bob Shanks, who lives in Kenilworth and has run Imagineering Clubs in the town. Mr Shanks was one of the founders of Imagineering and Councillor Illingworth, a retired chartered engineer, has been a long-standing supporter of Imagineering and was member of the founding committee in 2000.

Bob Shanks said: “We are very grateful for this donation – it enables us to widen our network of Clubs, inspire more young engineers of the future and provide more children with the opportunity to learn new skills and enjoy new experiences. We need more volunteers to help us with the work and we know they will find it very rewarding.”
