Imagineering entertained scores of children at London Model Engineering Exhibition

This three-day show at Alexandra Palace is popular with model makers of all ages and experience – and there were plenty of young engineers of the future attending this year who were eager to have a go at fun activities on the Imagineering stand. From one-to-one sessions on the Imagineering Workshop to stretching their imaginations with My Meccano, making little models of their own – there was plenty to keep them occupied. On the Imagineering Clubs tables there were all kinds of challenges – Magnets, Materials and Conductivity to name a few. They could also learn about electricity and electronics with some fascinating activities – and even send Morse Code messages to each other.
Michael Denny brought some fabulous Meccano models – a real inspiration for youngsters and something to which they can aspire.
There were over 14,000 visitors to this year’s LMEE – 8% increase on last year. And the event even featured on BBC’s ‘The One Show’!
