The 11th Rugby (Admirals) Scout Group built Imagineering models with great success
The Cub Scout Pack of 24 boys had great fun making the Aero-Glide over two sessions. During the first week the project was explained and the Cub Scout Leader invited a senior engineer from one of the maintenance firms at Coventry Airport. The visitor explained how aircraft operated and flew and he brought with him some gas turbine engine parts – engineering the boys had never seen before. The following week they had great fun trying out their gliders in a flying competition
The Scout Group of 29 boys and girls, made the Magnetic Compass, following instructions and learning about magnetisation and how the Compass works. Some members had been members of Imagineering Clubs at Bilton Junior School and Cawston Grange Primary School so were familiar with the kits. It was generally held that making the models ‘had been a good exercise to do.’
_*The Imagineering team will be promoting the Club activities north of the border at the Acceler8: Full Throttle event at The Scottish Council, the Scout Association Open Day at Fordell Firs near Dunfermline on 25 August 2012.*_
