The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) has created an annual *Memorial Lecture and Award in the name of Dr Alastair Graham Bryce*, former Hon Secretary and one of the founders of the Imagineering Foundation who sadly passed away last year.

*Bob Shanks*, Chairman of Imagineering, will be giving the inaugural Lecture on 12 June 2013 at the IMechE at Birdcage Walk, Westminster. Entitled *Inspiring The Young to Engineering - Formula AGB* the lecture will follow the development of the ideas and practices within Imagineering showing how Alastair's marvellous mind crystallised them into themes. He not only contributed to establishing interventions that were likely to be effective in directing children towards technology and engineering, but he also developed material to expand the impact on children. He actively went into classrooms to test his ideas and was a strong advocate for effective intervention .

Free of charge, spaces can be booked on line: http://events.imeche.org/Event... ). (Download leaflet below)

The Award itself will be made this year in the name of Imagineering and is for *'The individual or group judged to have made a significant contribution to the encouragement of young people towards a career in engineering.*' Nominations should be sent to Diane Lorenzelli at IMechE - E: D_Lorenzelli@imeche.org or Bob Shanks at E: bob@shanks.org.
