The Imagineering marquee, shared with the Royal Air Force, was heaving at times at the Royal International Air Tattoo.
Thousands of people crammed into the marquee shared between Imagineering, its supporting companies and partners from the Royal Air Force at the recent Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford near Cirencester on 16-17 July. Situated on the TRI@RIAT youth area, the marquee was full of fun activities, simulations and demonstrations. Driving rain on both mornings meant that the marquee was full to groaning with plenty to occupy the children until the rains cleared away for afternoons of great flying displays. Imagineering supporters at this event were AeroEngine Controls, Airbus, Army, GE Aviation, Imagineering Clubs, IMarEST, REME and Rolls-Royce. The Imagineering Clubs stand was busy as ever and the new Imagineering Workshop activity was particularly popular.
The centrepiece was the dramatic 17m long BLOODHOUND SSC show car. The real vehicle, currently under construction will be aiming to break the World Land Speed Record at 1000mph in a year’s time.
Imagineering is grateful for the support it received from the RAF Charitable Trust to enable it to take part in this year’s RIAT, the largest military air show in Europe, which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year.
