Pupils display how much they have enjoyed their Club
For this past year Imagineering’s own Chairman, Bob Shanks, with John Shiell and Bill Bailes has been running one of the Imagineering Clubs at St Nicholas C of E Primary School in Kenilworth, Warwickshire and on their last day at the Club the pupils showed their appreciation.
They presented their club tutors with thankyou cards from them all – together with an over-sized autographed pencil – expressing their gratitude. ‘Thank you for all our lovely Imagineering lessons….do you do it in secondary school?’; ‘Thank you for teaching me about engineering…I really enjoyed it’; ‘Thanks you’re amazing’; ‘…I’ve had sooo much fun…’ - just a few of the comments.
Bob commented: ‘We were touched by their thanks. Running these Clubs is rewarding in itself and the children’s enthusiasm is infectious. But when you get responses like these it makes you feel that it is all really worthwhile and we are making a difference and inspiring these youngsters.’
Bob’s Club is one of two Imagineering Clubs running at St Nicholas – an unusual arrangement but illustrating the enthusiasm for Imagineering from the pupils and the school. The other Club is run by Richard Earp from National Grid and Mark Perry.
