Civic leaders of Coventry and Kenilworth visited the Imagineering Fair in the Jaguar Exhibition Hall at the Ricoh Arena recently.
Deputy Lord Mayor of Coventry and the Deputy Lady Mayoress, Councillor Gary and Mrs Shirley Crookes paid a visit and were very impressed with all the stands and the enthusiasm of both young visitors and the standholders. Councillor Crookes, formerly in manufacturing, was full of praise about the work of the Imagineering Foundation.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Kenilworth, Councillor George and Mrs Joanna Illingworth were equally impressed – but Councillor Illingworth also has a personal interest. He was on the founding committee of Imagineering back in 2000 and has nominated the Imagineering Foundation as one of his chosen charities during his term of office. A former REME TA Colonel, he took the opportunity to chat to a couple of young soldiers on the REME stand and catch up on life in today’s army. He is also a great Meccano enthusiast and model-builder and stopped to chat to Michael Denny, another Meccano expert, about Michael’s fantastic display of working models.
The event was sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover and supported by Ricoh Arena
